Which antenatal class? Private and In-person classes

Hello, I’m Aoife, and I’m here to guide you through birth, breastfeeding, and parenting. Firstly, I am deeply passionate about encouraging people to trust their intuition on their journey to becoming parents. In pursuit of this, I teach antenatal classes. Furthermore, when you attend my antenatal class, my primary goal is to significantly boost your confidence in key areas such as giving birth, feeding your baby, and embracing your role as the incredible parent you are destined to be!

Additionally, I am a certified antenatal educator affiliated with Antenatal Ireland. Not only do I hold a diploma in Antenatal Education, but I am also FEDANT registered, emphasizing my commitment to providing top-tier education. It’s worth noting that FEDANT acts as the exclusive regulatory body for Antenatal Educators in both Ireland and the UK, which adds an extra layer of assurance regarding the quality of the education I provide.

Please, don’t hesitate to scroll down to explore the various antenatal class options available to you! This invitation marks an exciting step forward in your parenting journey, offering tailored solutions to meet your unique needs and preferences.

Option 1 – In-Person group antenatal class

My first option is a one day workshop that is specifically designed to be interactive and engaging. This workshop features a small group size to ensure personalised attention and a supportive learning environment. Moreover, my approach is evidence based, guaranteeing that the information you receive is reliable and up-to-date.

Additionally, the antenatal class is created around the topics you want to know about, making it highly relevant and tailored to your specific interests and needs. The ultimate aim is to leave the course feeling confident about your birth ahead.

Option 2 – Private antenatal class in the comfort of your own home

Embarking on your journey to parenthood, you might prefer a more personalised and intimate setting for your antenatal education. Recognising this need, I offer private antenatal classes, conducted in the comfort and privacy of your own home.

Firstly, this option is designed to cover the topics you require, ensuring that the antenatal class is directly relevant to your unique journey. This means that the content we discuss is specifically chosen by you, for you.

Additionally, the experience is tailored to meet your individual needs and preferences. This bespoke approach ensures that the education you receive is not only relevant but also aligns perfectly with your expectations and concerns.

Moreover, my antenatal classes are firmly evidence-based. This guarantees that the information and guidance provided are rooted in the latest research and best practices in the field of antenatal care.

Another key point is that I am pet-friendly. Understanding that pets are an integral part of many families, I ensure a comfortable learning environment for everyone involved, including your furry family members.

My aim with this private course is for you to finish feeling empowered and confident in the journey ahead. Confidence in childbirth and early parenting is invaluable, and this course is designed to foster that.

Antenatal Class Details & Topics

My antenatal classes are small which allows time and space for questions and discussions. All birth options are discussed so that you can work out how you’d like to approach labour, rather than telling you the ‘right’ way.

The information I give you is evidence based and by the end of the course I will empower you to make informed decisions about your birth and your parenting journey.

Prior to attending a class, I will ask you if there is anything specific you would like to cover. I aim to run inclusive classes and welcome LGBTQIA+ families, neurodivergent people and anyone with a disability.

Some of the topics covered include:

  • Informed decision making
  • Positions for labour & birth
  • Stages of labour
  • Role of hormones and how to get them flowing
  • Comfort measures
  • Role of the partner
  • Pain relief (natural & pharmacological)
  • Induction, Assisted Birth, Caesarean Birth
  • Breastfeeding
